Overland & Highway is a family run classic and specialist car dealership, based just outside of Church Stretton, England on the A49.
We specialise in anything from classic Land Rovers, fit for exploring the rural highways and byways, right to nippy Italian sports cars ready for a blast on your favourite B road. If you are looking to buy, sell or store a classic, Land Rover or specialist car, please do get in touch!
We can also prepare a vehicle to suit your requirements, either in house or using one of our associated companies, supply and source parts (we are authorised Bearmach distributors for Land Rover parts & accessories), as well as collecting and delivering vehicles anywhere in the UK.
Overland & Highway Ltd. was founded by Peter Clarke in Spring 2016, then based in Chester.
Since Peter was born with 'oil running in his veins', he decided he wanted to persue a career in the automotive industry. Having finished school, Peter spent four years studying for a mechanical engineering degree and spent time gaining experience working within the classic car industry.
Since his first 1970 Series IIA named 'Womble', Peter has owned and sold a succession of old Land Rovers along with other marques of classic cars, and decided that he wanted to turn his hobby into a business.
Why choose us?
Overland & Highway is a friendly, enthusiast based business with a personal touch. We are here to make sure that our customers find the right piece of automotive history for them, making sure each individual vehicle is detailed and prepared to the same high standard. Whether it be a Series III Land Rover or a Mercedes-Benz, we know what it feels like to buy a classic having built up a our own motley collection!
If you are looking to buy a particular vehicle, or have something interesting to sell, please do get in touch. We are always on the look out for all types of classic cars and four wheel drive vehicles from a little Austin A30 to heavy duty ex-military Land Rover One Ten! We can also provide vehicles for film or photoshoot use (subject to conditions).
As an ex military man, I had driven Landrovers and trailers worldwide, and so had a lifelong endearment to the Series 2. After taking early retirement, I had often thought of owning a Landover, and had spent the previous year peering through EBay Motors with that yearning. All of a sudden, one caught my eye. It was a 1967 Series 2A, but with a twist....It had a V8 under the hood. I got the green light from ‘she who must be obeyed’, and made enquiries. I took the journey from my home in Nottingham, over to Chester where I met Peter Clarke. It’s a worrying experience choosing an old Landrover. There are no warranties, no conditions, and no concessions. You get what you pay for, so it’s always best to have a small amount of knowledge of the working parts! Well, I had none of these qualities. The last time I had driven a Landrover of this ‘ilk’ was 48years ago, when it was my job. Today, I was in Peter Clarke’s hands. Well, his knowledge of the vehicle was well founded. He had a calming influence from the beginning, answering my questions and showing me everything I needed to know. He was very professional but very down to earth at the same time, and this is the exact combination needed to assure me of his honesty and integrity. Needless to say, I bought my land rover from Peter that day, and have never looked back. She is a beast and a head turner. Thank you Peter for restoring my faith in the old girl, and for enjoying my current fun in the Sun....
I just wanted to let you know that the A30 is great. Jude has driven it all weekend and loves it, 'Miss Molly' hasn't missed a beat. Thank you!
I just wanted to let you know that the first drive down to Staffordshire went indeed very well. On Sunday we went into the Peak District and it was great fun with the Ninety. Looking forward to plenty more trips!
Thanks for your support, it was a pleasure dealing with you. In the case of future modifications, I will be in touch.
The Lightweight is all good thanks. I had a quick drive around once it had been delivered, and everything seems to be as it should.
Very pleased with how it runs and condition is as expected.
Many thanks for the pain free transaction.
