Founded 2016.

Overland & Highway Ltd. was founded by Peter Clarke in Spring 2016, then based in Chester.

Since Peter was born with 'oil running in his veins', he decided he wanted to persue a career in the automotive industry. Having finished school, Peter spent four years studying for a mechanical engineering degree and spent time gaining experience working within  the classic car industry.

Since his first 1970 Series IIA named 'Womble', Peter has owned and sold a succession of old Land Rovers along with other marques of classic cars, and decided that he wanted to turn his hobby into a business.

Testimonials

Hi Peter,

I just wanted to let you know that the first drive down to Staffordshire went indeed very well. On Sunday we went into the Peak District and it was great fun with the Ninety. Looking forward to plenty more trips!

Thanks for your support, it was a pleasure dealing with you. In the case of future modifications, I will be in touch.

Hello Peter,

The Lightweight is all good thanks. I had a quick drive around once it had been delivered, and everything seems to be as it should.

Very pleased with how it runs and condition is as expected.

Many thanks for the pain free transaction.

"I was on the lookout for another Series 2/2A and let Peter at O&H know. Having dealt with them before when selling a vehicle, I knew that the transaction would be fuss free.

O&H found me something which fitted the bill and they asked if I'd like anything changed to the vehicle before delivery - They changed it from a hardtop to a canvas roof at a very reasonable price.

The vehicle arrived as described 'ready to play'. I'm absolutely thrilled with it, and look forward to many years of classic motoring with it. I'd recommend them to anyone."

"The little Baby Austin arrived this morning and is now safely tucked up in the garage. I was a little nervous about buying a car on the internet and which I had never seen in the flesh but I needn’t have worried.

The pictures, video and description on your website gave a very honest and accurate assessment of the car and, when she came off the trailer, she was just as I’d expected.

We took her for a run through the lanes and enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for the car and for making the deal so easy and stress free."

As an ex military man, I had driven Land Rovers worldwide, and so had a lifelong endearment to the Series 2. After taking early retirement, I had often thought of owning a Land Rover, and had spent the previous year going through eBay with that yearning. All of a sudden, one caught my eye. It was a 1967 Series 2A, but with a twist....It had a V8 under the hood. I got the green light from my wife, and made enquiries.

I took the journey over to meet Peter at Overland & Highway. It’s a worrying experience choosing an old Land Rover. There are no warranties, no conditions, and no concessions. You get what you pay for, so it’s always best to have a small amount of knowledge of the working parts! Well, I had none of these qualities. The last time I had driven a Land Rover of this ‘ilk’ was 48 years ago, when it was my job. Today, I was in Peter Clarke’s hands. Well, his knowledge of the vehicle was well founded. He had a calming influence from the beginning, answering my questions and showing me everything I needed to know. He was very professional but very down to earth at the same time, and this is the exact combination needed to assure me of his honesty and integrity.

Needless to say, I bought my land rover from Peter that day, and have never looked back. She is a beast and a head turner. Thank you Peter for restoring my faith in the old girl, and for enjoying my current fun in the Sun....

Hi Peter,

I just wanted to let you know that the A30 is great. Jude has driven it all weekend and loves it, 'Miss Molly' hasn't missed a beat. Thank you!
