Description:
The DAX Rush is a lightweight British kit car designed for high performance and driver engagement. Produced by DJ Sports Cars International Ltd, it follows the classic Lotus Seven-inspired design, featuring a minimalist body, open cockpit, and various engine options. Known for its excellent handling and rapid acceleration, the DAX Rush is popular among enthusiasts who enjoy building or customizing their own cars, as well as those seeking a thrilling track-day experience.
Originally purchased as a kit by the current owner’s father, it was part-built before being sold on to a local motor engineer who finished the car to a very high standard. The owner then bought it back into the family for occasional use. This is an extremely well put together example of a Rush V8 that has done very little since competition and kept indoors all its life! These cars are built using a triangulated steel space-frame chassis, with Ford Sierra-type running gear with SPAX coilovers front and rear on independent suspension. GRP an alloy body panels are fitted (and not much else…) making for a very lightweight sports car that complies with the Single Vehicle Approval scheme, making it fully road-legal. They are no-longer available to buy new as a kit, however parts are well catered for by JK Sports Cars.
Once fired up, the big Rover 3.5l V8 propels the car down the road very rapidly with a thunderous noise from the twin side-exit exhaust pipes. The R380 5-speed box selects gears very nicely, the steering is fast and light and the brakes very strong making for serious fun out on a twisty B-road!
The body and paintwork are excellent, with only some light age-related scratches upon close inspection. The Image alloys and Toyo tyres are in great condition, and the minimal interior is equally in excellent order. You definitely need to be of a slightly slimmer/shorter build to fit in the car comfortably however, anyone over about 6’2” will find it tricky to drive, sadly for myself…!
The odometer reads 3,313 miles (although we cannot verify this) and the car comes with an MoT until 31st August 2026. This is an awesome head-turner for the summer, and will put many ear-to-ear grins on your face! Please get in touch to arrange a viewing!
