Description:
The XK8 is a luxury grand touring car produced by Jaguar Cars between 1996 and 2006, known for its elegant design, smooth performance, and refinement. Successor to the XJS, it was available as both a coupé and a convertible powered by a 4.0-litre (later 4.2-litre) V8 engine that delivered strong yet effortless acceleration. Its styling blended classic Jaguar cues—such as the oval grille and sleek, flowing lines—with modern touches, making it one of the brand’s most recognizable models of its era. Inside, the XK8 featured a luxurious cabin with leather upholstery, wood trim, and advanced features for its time, reinforcing its reputation as a sophisticated and desirable GT.
Originally supplied by Hartwells Jaguar of Shrewsbury, this Antigua Blue example was sold new to a local customer who owned the car for a year. It then came back to Hartwells in 1998, when the current owner (an employee of Jaguar Cars) went out to carry out a minor rectification for the dealer, and ended up purchasing the car for himself and his wife to enjoy. Having only using the car sparingly over that time, it has only racked up just over 31,000 miles! They have now come to the realisation that it is not getting used (mostly trips to the MoT station or servicing!) so now needs to go to its next owner.
The car drives excellently, with its AJ-V8 sounding smooth, the ZF auto box changing up and down nicely with kick-down and sport modes working correctly, and no rattles or knocks coming from the suspension or steering. It certainly feels like a very low-mileage car!
The body and paintwork are very good, with only some light age-related scratches and stone-chips upon close inspection. The hood is in great condition, and the colour coded cream leather hood cover is present in its black storage bag. The alloy wheels are in excellent condition with period Pirelli tyres that have lots of tread and no perishing. The interior reflects the exterior being in great shape, with no rips/tears or bad creases. All the electrical items work as they should with a decent sound system.
The odometer reads 31,037 miles (which we believe to be genuine from the history and condition, but cannot verify) and the car comes with a MoT until 6th August 2026 but we can put a fresh 12 months on it upon sale. There is a full-service history with the car, along with a full manual/book pack, sales brochures, receipts and V5C. This is a beautiful GT for those summer top-down trips to the coast, but is equally a future classic and investment!
